Mercury transit - May 07 - 2003
Our equipment is designed mainly for Deep Sky Widefield applications however - here are our efforts.
During the transit the sky was rather clear except for high altitude stratus.
Our images of the Mercury transit were captured by Morten Moeller, Farshad Shirmohammadi,
Mia Busch Agergaard and Rasmus Flytkjaer.
These student images are copyfree for ordinary press media (and astronomical webpages) on the conditions given at the end of this page.
Mercury is visible as the dark spot at the upper part of the image.
A few selected images are shown below. Mercury starts at upper left corner - and then moves to the right - until it leaves the sun in the last image.
Movie showing the transit - only 350 kByte but requires freeware DIVX to be installed.
