Well known reflection nebula, distance about 400 light years. Data on both images - f = 800 mm, based on a 1140 mm Meade refractor, in combination with a focal reducer. 12 x 4 minutes - camera running in "small JPG" mode - pixel binned a factor 2 - 3200 ASA.

click for enlargement Well known nebula, distance 1800 Lightyears. The red colour is due to hydrogen, the white-yellow colour due to oxygen. The bluish colour in top is due to reflection in interstellar dust particles.

Data : 10 x 4 minutes Canon EOS 10D - running at 3200 ASA.
